What is Feed2Gain ? Feed to Gain is a significant term in the feed industry as it refers to the weight of feed per weight of animal gain, a measure of effeciency. Dr. Ivey started working in this area in 1979. He started working with growth models for animals in the mid '80's and has continued since. He retired after 10 years as Vice President of Research for Novus International, Inc. in 2001 and started Feed2Gain, LLC as a way to continue to make computer evaluation of animal growth available to the animal industry. He markets a product for Poultry called BroilerOpt that optimizes diets for growing broiler chickens that minimize cost and maximize growth. He continues to consult for large animal producers and recent travel includes China, Indonesia, Maylasia, Australia, Canada and England. He consults on animal nutritional issues with clients in those areasas well as in the USA and Brazil. The program for pets began because of concern for excess weight on pets. Often, the recommendations for pet food consumption are too broad, confusing the customer. A dog weighing between 10 pounds should consume between 294 for an inactive dog (5/8 of a cup of a typical pet food of 510 calories per cup) and 433 calories (7/8 cup of the same pet food). At 20 pounds, a dog should eat 496 calories for the inactive dog to 730 calories if an active young pet over 1 year. A typical recommendation for a pet food is one cup for pets between 10 and 20 pounds. The inactive dog would either not eat all its food, leading the owner to coax it to eat more and grow obese or be undernurished and demand more food. Petfood ChekR allows for accurate and precise feeding recommendations including weight loss suggestions based on the dog's weight, amount of weight to lose and the time given to lose it. Customers will look for and remember good pet food suppliers that can give good, accurate recommendations on intake. Petfood ChekR lets you do exactly that. กก Contact Information - Feed2Gain LLCDr. Frank J. Ivey
